Blogging from A to Z – Day 14 – Names

I love names and take huge pleasure in finding the perfect names for my characters in my books,  stories, and puzzles. I also love finding weird and wonderful names out in the real world. In London, for example, my father often pointed to the irony of the kosher butcher named Speck – Speck is German for bacon.

There are also made up names that are perfect – the optician  called Seymour Clearly comes to mind. So for this puzzly blog post are offer you a selection of names and occupations – all fictitious of course.

Joe King – Comedian

Bridget Quick – Engineer

Teresa Green – Botanist

Lucy Lastic – Seamstress

Robin Banks – Burglar

Henrietta Lott – Competitive eater

Mark Miwurds – Prophet

Bill Poster – Advertising executive

And a pair of philosophers – Wanda Wai and Ivor Notion.

But that’s just the start I’m sure you can come up with some others – I’d love to hear yours in the comments!
